Can you open mulitple instances of MS word 2003?

In MS 2000, I used to be able to open more than one instance of WOrd and
EXCEL, which was extremely useful for editing and reviewing documents. I
don't seem to be able to do this in MS 2003. Can anyone guide me in th write
directions???
 
You can open as many documents/windows as you want, and you can use Compare
Side by Side (with two copies of the same document, if desired). What
exactly are you trying to do?
