Can you delete System Restore files

and add old ones that were saved to the System Volume Information
directory??

I've tried and have deleted the entire directory and added the old
files but it creates a new file for the present day.

I had a trojan that cleaned my restore files that would have saved me
but alas ... I had those files backed up in another directory also. I
just need to know if its possible to copy those old files to a clean
directory and run one of them.

This is on a WinXP OS.

TIA

No, that will not work, and in fact corrupt all existing restore points.

At this point I would suggest disabling System Restore. Then enable it on the
Windows partition only. This will delete all existing restore points.
