Is there any way to de-activate the information box that appears when you
hover the mouse on a hyperlink?

That's controlled by the Tooltips setting. In Word 2007, Office button -
Word Options - Display tab - Show document tooltips on hover.

In Word 2003, Tools - Options - View - Screentips.

In both cases, you'll lose all screen tips, not just the hyperlink ones. So,
if you hover over footnote reference marks, comments, etc., those will no
longer display their respective contents, either.

Thanks Herb
I'll give it a go.
