You could create a macro so that Ctrl-a, for example, would insert a symbol into the cell. Or clicking a button would put the symbol into the cell. I don't know that you can customize a key directly as you really want though. Perhaps someone wiser will speak up.... Bill

If you don't like typing those three characters, maybe you could choose a combination of seldom used characters that you could use instead (@@ or !!). tools|autocorrect options|autocorrection tab This is shared between the programs in Office (Word, excel, powerpoint...)
