Can you change the task folder that is viewed in taskpad?

Task folders can have child folders. But can you change the folder that
taskpad displays to one of these child folders when in calendar view? ie
taskpad normally displays the "Tasks" folder but can it be changed to display
another folder??

Nope.

This is version dependant. If you have 2007 it shows the contents of Tasks
folders including child folders of the primary one. All older versions,
Brian's spot on.
