Can the user write on a report without save anything?

Hello
I have a report and the users want to write on their own a period range
they want on that report. They do not want to save that info neither
filtering the report. Just when the report open to ask them enter that
period and just appear on the report and print it. Or to be a place on the
report you can write this period range. Just this. I create a text box on the
report detail section and in the control source I wrote:
=[Please Enter Date]
But the report opens without asking the user to enter anything
The report is a calculated report is not based on any query.
How can I do that??
Is there any other way that I can do it?
