Can the Recycle Bin setup be changed?

My Recycle Bin saves only a very limited number of files and folders. A good
95% of what gets deleted never shows up there. Is there any way to set the
Recycle Bin up to save specific deleted file types or to save all deleted files
except those from specific folders?

This has never been important in the past because I've been using Norton
Utilities. If I accidentally deleted something, I could usually get it back
with Norton. But I've become disenchanted with the 2006 Symantec versions and
have uninstalled them all from my computer. However, I do miss the luxury of
being able to recover erroneously deleted files.

Thanks for any help.

You had a third party uninstall enhancement on your computer and you took it
off. Now you miss it. Get another and install it. If you don't like Norton
(I use the Norton Protected Recycle Bin on every computer I own) look into
"Undelete" from Executive Software.

BTW: I have ONLY the Norton Protected Recycle Bin. Nothing else from Norton
System Works has been installed. You can do this with a CUSTOM installation
of Norton.

Thanks, Richard. I'll check out Undelete. Norton Protected Recycle Bin isn't
available as a stand-alone feature on the version of NSW I have.

Chris,

I can install only the Protected Recycle Bin and some core files from any
version of SystemWorks, from NSW 2001 up to NSW 2005.

If you use third party apps to delete files they wont show up in the
recycle bin. ie the files are "instantly" deleted.

Greetings,

If you wish to recover deleted files there is still possible to do this
using data recovery tools such as the one I prefer, Undelete. IT never
failed me before nor corrupted restored files. If you wish, you can try
it out.
