can`t Install enterprise subordinate ca on domain controller

Hi
We have a enterprise root ca installed on a domain controller in our
root domain (active directory). Now I`m trying to install a
subordinate ca on a domain controller in a child domain, but I only
have the stand-alone choices.

However, if I try do to the install on a member server in the same
domain, I can install it as a enterprise subordinate, but I would
really like to have it on my DC. Is this by design or is there anyway
around it?

Just to let you know;

I solved this by upgrading my W2000 DC to the latest hotfix/service pack
