I am very close to understanding this Styles thing but I loose the point in
the last step; actually applying the Style to the entire site.
The goal for me is to be able to have a page, with colors, tables, fonts,
images, etc., that I can use for all the pages in the site. I’d like to be
able to apply the layout I create on one page to all pages and if I make a
change, I’d like the change to apply to all pages.
I do not know HTML. None the less, I’m nearly ¾ the way through
understanding how to use Styles but get lost at the very end:
1. I’ve read the MS notes on Styles. They tell how to create a Style but
are not clear on the actual way to apply the Style. The link I read was

2. I decided from reading this link that I need to create an External Style.
3. I opened a Page and saved it as IndexF.dwt. Note that I saved the page
as a Dynamic Template. (I’ve never used one before).
4. I created a new Theme and applied it to IndexF.dwt.
5. After I laid my page out the way I want, I saved it as a .dwt and also
saved it as a .css. So, at this point, I have saved one Dynamic Page named
IndexF.dwt and I have saved the same page as IndexF.css; a Cascading Styles
Page (.css).
Looking back over the methods I’ve used to get this far, have I don this
right?
6. Finally, I go to Format/StyleSheetLinks…browse down to find my
IndexF.css and I add that Style.
7. If I’ve done everything OK thus far…now what? Here is where I go
stupid…how do I open a new page so that it looks exactly like my IndexF.css
Style?
My conceptual understanding is that I can open a page and it will either
look like my Style or I can hit a button and the Sytle will be applied making
the name page look like the Style.
How do I make all the pages look like the Style?
What do I work on to make changes to all the pages once the style is added?
Do I open IndexF.dwt? Or, do I open IndexF.css? I don’t know HTML so
hopefully I would work on the .dwt.
If someone can get me just the next little step here, my life could go on!
