Whenever I start up my computer (Windows XP SP2 Home Edition),after my
desktop loads,I get this message:

RUNDLL

Error loading C:\ProgramFiles\WildTangement\Apps\CDA\cdaEngine0400.dll

The specified module could not be found.

What exactly does this mean and how to fix it or get rid of it?Thanks for

Wild Tangent is a program that is packaged with other programs and is
considered by some to by malware. Go to Start | Run. Type in msconfig.
Click Ok. On the startup tab uncheck the line that references
cdaEngine0400.dll. Click apply, then ok your way out. Reboot. A
message window from msconfig will pop up saying it's in diagnostic mode.
Check the box for it to not alert you again. Then do a complete scan
for malware.

Run these programs to check for spyware/malware. After installing
update them, then boot into safe mode and run them. You should update
and run them weekly.

You do not have to use msconfig

go to start>run and type regedit

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

and

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

and delete the key that contains the value of
"C:\ProgramFiles\WildTangement\Apps\CDA\cdaEngine0400.dll"

Suggesting to someone who might not be very knowledgable to edit the
registry is risky.

Not to mention that, at least in this case, using msconfig is simpler.

Especially when there's an easier and safer way. Even for the
very knowlegeable, it's always better to do something an easier
and safer way, if it's available.
