can someone identify a virus please

Hi,
When I connect my laptop to the internet it runs ok for about 3 minutes
The a security type warning pops up saying that there is a shutdown virus
and i need to download a patch.
Then I get another pop up message saying that my pc will shut down and a it
counts off 30 seconds and then shuts down
Also in the popup is
C:/Windows/system32/Isass.exe

I have run my virus scanner and it tells me that it has not found a virus.
I also downloaded onto disc on another PC the sasser removal tool from
Symantec and run that on my PC but it did not find anything.

I would appreciate any advice please

Does sound like sasser, or maybe gaobot.

Try Stinger, from McAfee:

You don't mention the version of Windows. Pay attention to the link on
that page for ME/XP users.

Maybe:

Is your firewall active?
