I would like to be able to create a batchfile with a desktoop shortcut that
clears out my index.dat files. Am I right in saying that the cmd del
index.dat /s run from dos prompt removes traces from the ie5 index.dat file
without the need to restart the pc? Could anyone show me how to create a
shortcut that will allow me to 'one click' these files away.

Indeed is this possible?

This free program will clean the index.dat file as well as other areas of
your PC.
