It has been a few upgrades since I've actively used Access
(Acces 97 to be exact. I am importing a table from an
Access 2000 database. The first column in the database is
a plus sign. When clicked, it displays the results of a
query based on the criteria in that record. Could you
please let me know what this is and how it was inserted
into a table?

This is a rather annoying (to me) new feature called a "Subtable".
It's just as you describe - it uses the defined relationships between
your tables to display the "many" side data linked to a given record
of your main table.

It's not actually "inserted", it's just a display tool; you can turn
it off by opening the table in design view, and selecting Format...
Subdatasheets... None.
