Can remap drives!!!

I have an XP Pro machine that is connecting to a 2000
server. After you log into the domain (with no errors), it
will not remap the drives, even though it is set to
reconnect. In order to remap, I need to disconnect, then
reconnect the drives. This makes no sense!!! please help!!!
