In order to save space in my mailbox, I save and then remove attachments from
any incoming message I want to save. I then use Edit Message to make a note
to myself about where I saved the attachments and what they're called in case
I don't remember where I've saved them.
Like many Outlook users, I receive a lot of attachments and so I do this a
lot. It would be cool if Outlook automatically inserted a comment into the
email message body or the header when I save and remove an attachment,
including filename and its save-as destination (as well as time/date and the
ability to add comments about the attachment) so that I wouldn't need to do
it manually. Ideally it would be done so that the comment would not be
visible to recipients if I reply to or forward the email message later.
This functionality might encourage users to free up space in their mailboxes
by not archiving large attachments along with email messages. Other thoughts
on this?
