Can only download two files at a time

Not an earth-shattering problem, but I couldn't find
anything in the knowledge base and I stumped a Gateway
Tech for over half an hour.

How can I reset the number of files IE6 will download at
one time? I've got a cable modem (Comcast) and lots of
memory. Is there a way to fix this?

Two is standard.
Perhaps you and the tech missed this?
