Can One Use Access 2003 on Access 2000 Databases?

Can One Use Access 2003 to open and use Access 2000 databases (front-ends
and back-ends in Access 2000)?

If "Yes", can it be done WITHOUT converting the Access 2000 front-ends and
back-ends to Access 2003, even accidentally?

(We have a section that is updating to Access 2003, but we are sticking with
Access 2000 for a few months longer. They use many of our databases now, but
once they change to Access 2003, we still want them to be able to use those
Access 2000 databases (using Access 2003), but NOT convert them to Access
2003.)

Thanks!

Yes. Access 2003 (and 2002) use the same format as Access 2000 by default.
You will, of course, still have to be careful to avoid using any new
features that are not supported in the earlier version.
