can not shout down my PC

I got the blue screen & DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE message
when I try to shutdown my HP Pavilion 8562 (PIII) PC.

The Windows XP shutdown successful if I disconnect the HP
mouse,

The HP mouse uses the Microsoft XP mouse driver.

Sounds like a major driver or irq conflict
