Can not re-install Quicken

I'm running WindowsXP Home, SP2. I had to uninstall Quicken 2004 because it
quit running properly, and when I tried to re-install it, I get errors.
Actually, it wouldn't uninstall either, so I deleted all files in the
"Program Files\QUICKENW" folder and then used Regedit to remove all
references to "Quicken" in the registry. When I try to install it from the
Administrator's account, I get "Internal Failure Error Number 0x80040707".
When I give the limited account administrative privileges and try to install
it from there, I get "Feature transfer error 1605: This action is only valid
for products that are currently installed."
Any suggestions?

Yes, but I haven't seen anything that looks useful there except Live Chat,
but that isn't available until 12 noon PDT.

No. I Googled the error numbers and got several ideas, but none of them
worked out for me.
