Hi Jules, and Bob winks,

Read the top portion at this link and do the "To Reset Windows Mail"
section. It will get rid of the stuck messages for you.

I do not know where to find "Reset Windows mail." I have turned of my Norton 360 but still; can not delete the spam.

Just use the Microsoft fix:

Although it specifically mentions only the Outbox folder, in fact
it works for any stuck/undeletable messages in any folder.

Lordy how this has tormented me!! but it did fix. that & making sure that it
"never uses dial-up". I have cable isp. GuRRRRR!

I found the fix!!! Open up windows mail, click the deleted box, click edit
then click on delete messages. This will work one at a time, but they will
go bye bye
