Hello:

I have a folder on the D drive on my server. No matter what I do I can not
delete it. I have tried to take ownership of the folder and even tried
"xcacls.exe". But I keep getting access denied.

Does anyone of any utilities that could force a delete? In MS-DOS there was
a tool called "deltree.exe".

Thanks for your reply. I did try this and I get the same thing. Access is
denied...

Any other suggestions by chance?

- What is the name of the folder?
- What are its NTFS permissions?
- Who are you logged on as?

Thanks again for replying...

What is the name of the folders?
includes
products
service
support
What are its NTFS permissions?
I have tried to take owner ship of them. Currently I can see the root
folder with is BankofAmerica. When I click any of the sub folders I get
access denied. Permissions are currently set to my Domain Admin account
Who are you logged on as?
I logged on as Domain Admin and Local Admin and got the same thing each
time.

Thanks again...

Try this:
- Start a Command Prompt
- Navigate to the parent of "BankofAmerica"
- Type these commands:
xcacls BankofAmerica /e /t /g administrator:o
cacls BankofAmerica
attrib BankofAmerica
- Post the output of these commands

Depends; try put inside another folder, say SOB...
In an NT Command line of D:
"type" rd sob
Is it still there...?
Were you in an administrator account?
Did you really not need it?

Still no matter what I do I get an "Access is Denied" message. It does not
matter if I am logged in as a domain admin or local admin account. Is it
possible these folders have already been deleted and I am just seeing
phantoms? That sounds very unlikely on W2K server. I would expect
something like that on WinNT. I am thinking of rebooting the server to see
what I get. Also, I was thinking of booting into the recovery console and
seeing if I could delete the folder there. The only problem is this is a
commerce server so it really needs to be up 24/7.

Any other ideas?
