Can not connect to internet after stand-by

I have a problem with IE and OE connecting to the internet after coming out
of stand-by. My ICQ and Wetsock do connect, just not IE or OE. I have to
reboot to get them to work. Any clues?
XP Pro and verizon DSL.

coming out of standby, your connection has lost DNS

DNS fails: restart windows, after you go to start/run, and type CMD, then at
that prompt type: IPCONFIG /flushDNS and then : IPCONFIG /registerDNS
