Can not access Vista PC drives - Vista security sucks.

I bought 5 new Vista Business machines, new copies of Office 2003
Professional to replace 5 XP boxes. Big mistake. Huge. If I see one
more Vista security popup I am going to redline. I've loaded them up,
copied all the docs, mail and mail settings and anything else that needed to
run on our peer to peer network. Mail works. Printers work. Can see all
the computers/drives in the WORkGROUP. But we can not get any of the Vista
boxes to allow the others to open up drives for sharing. Brought one of the
XP boxes back up to store the accounting files for access.

I think I read every post and did every suggestion on MS site and forum.
Most are just posting links to solutions that do not work. All boxes are set
to private, no passwords needed. I think I have jingled every setting.

Why can I not open drives/folder/files on the other boxes? Can I
completely turn these boxes down to XP securty levels.

Do a simple test. If you turn off the firewall and use net use \\remotevistaIP command, what's the system error?

I tried that (net use \\remotevistaIP command) & (net use \\remotevistaIP)
and it brings up c:\windows\sytem32\net.exe screen for a second then goes off.

You must run the command from command prompt. Go to Start, type cmd and press enter.

I did it at start, run and it went by quick. Will try it through cmd
tomorrow. We pulled 3 of the 5 new Vista boxes and put the XP ones back on.
No one can log in from outside (with gotomypc). I do not think anyone has
managed to get thier Treo's working either with the new Windows mobile on
Vista. With XP I never had to do a thing. It was flawless performance. I
spent my time making money. Is there a way to turn all this Vista nonsense
off and get to an XP level of operation?

System error 53 is firewall or name resolution issue. I would check the firewall or any security software first. Or this search result may help,

System ErrorsVPN Case Study - Can ping VPN server but receive System error 53 using net use. Case Study - System Error 53 - The network path was not found. ...
