Suddenly I can no longer print from either Internet Explorer or
Outlook Express. Hdwr. and sftwr. are: Compaq Pesario 2100, AMD, Win
XP SP2. I can print fine from all other applications including
Outlook. I get abolulutely nothing when I attempt to print from file >
print, menu bar icon, or <ctrl> P. No print properties window, no
error message, nothing goes to the spooler. HELP! please.

It's not the printer or the driver. As I said, I can print from all
other applications including Outlook.

Actually, it may be the drivers. Different drivers are used for Internet
printing than are used for printing from applications. However, one
thing to check for:

Start>Run>regedit [enter]

Navigate to
User Key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
Value Name: Use StyleSheets
Data Type: REG_SZ (String Value)

Find the value named "Use StyleSheets" and either delete it, or set it
to equal "Yes".

See if this helps...

To resolve this issue, register the following files:
• Iepeers.dll
• Shdocvw.dll
• Mshtml.dll
• Jscript.dll
• Oleaut32.dll
To register a file, type regsvr32 file name at a command prompt, and then
press ENTER.

I've just discovered another problem with this computer - System
information and system restore don't work either. Do I have a virus? I
ran AVG virus and MS AntiSpyware with no exceptions.

What happens when you try to print from IE or OE? Post any error messages
in their entirety.

You might try the following but judging from your later post in this thread
it might not help:

Start > Run > (type in) regsvr32 /ole32.dll (note the space) > OK
