I'm trying to protect certain fields in a Word document. I've figured out
that I need to create sections and then protect those sections I select.
However, in a large document, it's hard to track which section is which.
What would be handy is for the screen to display a number for each section
that matches the section numbers in the protect document panel.
Is there some way of doing this, or at least making tracking of sections
easier?

Sections are numbered consecutively starting at the beginning of the
document. The section number for the current page is listed in the status
bar. However you imply lots of sections and a long document, which suggests
a document that is probably unsuited to protected form fields. Are you sure
that this is the best way to achieve the document's aims?
