can I use windows 2000 server as a router

I have a home network with three PCs
all running win2k server
wondering if I have to purchase a separate machine to serve as a DHCP
+ router + (hopefully) firewall for the machines on the internal
network
or can I have one win2k server dedicated for this task and connect
others to it
Thanks for any suggestions

Hello:
You can use one of your existing Win2k computers to use as a router and
DHCP. It will have to have 2 network cards in it (1 for the internal lan and
the other for connecting to the internet) and ip forwadring enabled. Then
you need to add the IP of your win2k router in the other computers as the
default gateway, or go and buy a linksys 4 port router and use it, they are
fairly cheap.
