I didn't know much about Windows Xp home except it was more dependable than
WinME. I know know that the Pro version has powerpoint and more. Is there
a way to upgrade my home version to the Pro version as in a upgrade?

No Windows version comes with PowerPoint. It is part of Office.
Yes, it's possible to upgrade WinME to WinXP Pro.

Windows XP Pro is identical in it's core components to Windows XP Home with
the addition of some networking components that make it suitable for use in
a domain/server type network and some additional security features.

It does not have any Office applications Powerpoint or otherwise.

Windows XP is an "Operating System" and does not include
applications such as PowerPoint. PowerPoint is included
when you purchase Microsoft Office separately.

No, it doesn't have PowerPoint. See below.
XP Professional and XP Home are exactly the same in all respects,
except that Professional has a few features (mostly related to
networking and security) missing from Home. For most (but not
all) home users, these features aren't needed, would never be
used, and buying Professional instead of Home is a waste of
money.

For details go to

http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windowsxp_home_pro.asp

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/whichxp.asp

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/home/howtobuy/choosing2.asp

Also note that Professional allows ten concurrent network
connections, and Home only five.

No version of Windows has every included PowerPoint, or any other
significant application software. PowerPoint is sold separately,
either by itself or as part of Microsoft Office.

You may have seen particular computers for sale that were bundled
with both Windows XP Professional and PowerPoint, but that's just
that particular vendors's offering and doesn't mean that Windows
XP Professional includes PowerPoint.

Yes, you can upgrade XP Home to Professional. There is no special
upgrade version just for this, but the regular XP Professional
Upgrade works fine (although it doesn't say so on the box).
However, unless there's something else in Professional you need,
it would probably be a complete waste of money for you.
