Also i need the scanreg / restore option because, we are

Yes, you can upgrade if you get more RAM. The best course of action for
you is to take the machine to a good local professional (not a BestBuy
or CompUSA type of store) and have them do everything for you. I'm not
saying this to hurt your feelings, but based on your post this would be
the easiest and most painless way of going about it.

Very prudent advice, Malke, and beautifully worded.. (lawsuits from CompUSA
and BestBuy to follow subject to either company being able to detect the
presence of a lawyer in their respective corporate headquarters area)

There is absolutely no truth in the rumour that the two companies mentioned
above have cut the 'fruit and nuts' ration to their service and sales staff
in a bid to save money.. the staff are alive and well, have badges with
their own names and positions in bold characters such that they remember who
they are and what is expected, and are briefed at the start of every working
day about overstocks to be 'pushed' as 'top of the line latest technology'
and also what day it is..

why the heck do you have to post your question SIX times?

Because he made a mistake. Because he isn't used to working with
computers. Because he was using the web interface and it's clunky.
These things happen and the gracious thing is not to jump all over
someone for this sort of little thing. If you just want to be bitchy,
go over to c.o.l.a. Tell them "Windows rulez" and enjoy yourself.
