can I upgrade office 97 to office 2003 professional?

I am currently running office 97 and want to purchase Office 2003

Installing Office 2003 shouldn't pose any problems, assuming that your
version of Windows will support it. However, I don't think that Office 97 is
a qualifying product for Office 2003 Upgrade. So be sure that you buy the
"full version" Office System 2003 rather than purchasing an "Upgrade"
version.
