You would need another license if it is already installed and activated on
your desktop. Only one install per license.

No, you may not do this.

Yes. The rule is quite clear. It's one copy (or one license) for each
computer.

There's nothing new here. This is exactly the same rule that's been in
effect on every version of Windows starting with Windows 3.1. The only
thing new, starting with Windows XP, is that there's now an
enforcement mechanism.

Microsoft. You say your desktop PC was loaded with the retail version of
Vista Ultimate. You might be allowed to install it onto your laptop, and
to activate it, because I'm sure that this is one of the perks of Vista
Ultimate. But again, confirm with Microsoft first.

versions of Windows and all editions of Vista.
