Can I switch from duel core mode to single and back ?

I'm using Windows XP pro sp2.

I got a nice duel core processor but I installed windows with no special
configuration and I couldn't play Warcraft III because of the duel core.

But I installed windows on a second disk and this time I selected single
core mode at the beginning of the installation and the game worked as normal.
My system was only using 1 of the cores I guess.

I recently had a bad crash so I had to do a system recovery. Now I'm using
both cores again.....

Is there anyway I can switch to single core mode without reinsalling windows
again? Can I switch back and forth?

Look for the "numproc" parameter.

Can I switch back and forth?

Yes, but not without rebooting.

Simply create an extra line in BOOT.INI and set the timeout to
something other than zero.

Thanks Robert. I'll study this page and maybe figure out to make a new
boot.ini that will boot up in single core mode.
