Can I start a RAID 1 without reformatting my source disk?

Hello everyone.

I've got 2 identical hard drives that I'd like to turn into a RAID 1
running on an XP Pro machine.

One disk is my normal boot disk, while the other is just a backup disk
where I store ghost images of the boot disk. I'd like to turn those
two disks into a RAID 1 Mirror. Can I do this without reformatting
both disks. I'm willing to format the second disk, not the boot disk.
Specifically, I'd like not to lose any of the data on my boot disk,
just turn it into the "source" disk and have the second drive mirror
from it?

Is this possilbe or not?

Thanks all. Have a good day.

Does your PC have a RAID controller ?, If not I wouldn't mess around
with RAID on a desktop PC. You're better off with your current setup
using the 2nd drive as a destination for Image modules. Converting a
working setup to something like that is a good way to screw up the whole
works.

Best take the question to the maker of the RAID controller, not here.
