can i send a mail merge email with attachment

I tried, but people are telling me that the attachment didnt go through. I
originally tried to do it in Word, but saw nowhere to add the attachment, so
I switched to outlook, set up the email with the attachment, then merged.
The attachment seemed to have been dropped.
