Can I scan a record in pdf format and store it in access?

I want to scan my bank statements and/or other records for archiving purposes
and store them somewhere. I just started using access and working with
databases. Is this an appropriate place to store such documents or does
anyone have a better suggestion. My scanner scans to pdf files.

Hi,
instead of storing these files within the database itself you should store
them in a secured folder and only save the full path to this folder/file in a
table field. Embedding the file directly can cause massive bloat and you will
run out of space really soon.

It sounds as though you are looking for an application to keep the
scans of your bank statements archived, as opposed to linking them to
specific financial data in an existing database.

If that's the case, I'd recommend against using Access for this
purpose, as it's really not designed for what you're looking for.

Instead, you might want to search for a file organization application
where you can lock the files away in a secure place, so you don't have
to worry about having those statements opened by prying eyes.
