Can I put a picture on part of the screen while my movie plays?

I'm doing a mock newscast for a project and would like to have a picture in the corner of the screen. Can I do this? If so, how?
 
MM2 doesn't provide the feature, but if you want to jump through some
technical hoops and get into custom transitions, see the posts on the
Editing > Video > Transitions page of www.papajohn.org
