I used Trellian web software to create my original web site and now I have
frontpage 2003 and wish to transfer my files to front page so that I can
modify them. How do I open those sites in Front Page?

Thanks,
Amy

If you have them on your Hard Drive (in a directory) simply open that
directory in FrontPage. If they are on your ISP's server then they need to
have the FrontPage Server Extensions installed. If they do just do File,
Open Web and type http://www.yourdomain.com/ to open the web(s) in FP.

Okay, I've discovered by accident how to download them from the ftp site into
Front page, but now I am having trouble uploading them again. When I click
publish, it shows that it is loading but when I go to the site, the page
isn't changed even when I hit refresh.

I must say that Front Page isn't as easy as Trellian and Coffeecup ftp that
I had used before.

I am sure that once I learn it it will be easier but I don't know where to
go for help. I wish there was a wizard in front page with tutorials. I
tried one tutorial online, but I couldn't find one for importing a website.

Thanks for your help. Can I ask you more questions?

Try this. With FP, rename the page on the remote site, and browse to the
original name. Do you still get the page? If so, you are looking at the
page being pulled from your local cache. Refresh your browser's cache, and
browse to the original name again. Do you get a file not found page? If
not, then you still have not refreshed your local cache. Close all
instances of IE and try again. When you get the file not found error, then
upload the new page again. Now you should see your changes.

Thanks for your help. I renamed on the remote site and it didn't show the
page after that. When I tried to published the original site to the remote,
it gave me an error 550 could not open. Just to make sure that I am
publishing correctly, I right click on the file and select publish selected
files, correct?

You are wanting to just publish a single page, and the method you have
described is how you would do it - right click and select publish selected
files.

Thanks, so why did I get the error?

got it now, I had it in the wrong section of my website area. I was trying
to separate pages in my saved websites, but when I put them back where
frontpage had saved them automatically, then I was able to upload.

Yay!
