Can I create ASR backup on the USB stick and then use it whenever the system has crashed?

Microsoft tells us to creat ASR on the floopy disk. Can I creat it on the
USB flash drive?

The backup program does not allow you to redirect the ASR file to anywhere
else. It says floppy - use a floppy. Remember, 5 years ago when XP was new,
USB thumb drives didn't exist and all computers had floppy drives.

Thumb drives existed.
They were just MUCH smaller in capacity (8MB to maybe 64MB?) and they cost
more than most sane people would spend on it. ;-)

In other words - were not common, so Microsoft just left the standard floppy
drive in the equation. Then two years later everyone started asking,
"Aren't floppy disk drives obsolete by now?" *grin*
