Hi,

Is it possible for me to connect 7 or 8 monitors to one XP Pro machine? If
yes, what do I need? I know that some video cards support 2 monitors. Can I
put 3-4 of those cards into one computer and have 6+ monitors attached to a
single PC?

Yes, the limit is ten monitors.

Yes. All you need is sufficient video cards and sufficient available slots
of the right type to put them in.

But be aware of the following: You normally have only one AGP or PCIE slot,
so the others will have to go into PCI slots and that may hurt your
performance. Finding three available PCI slots might be a problem on some
computers. I'm not sure what AGP cards come in two-monitor versions, but I
suspect that your choice may be limited there.

Also be aware that you can run into incompatibilities between video cards,
so it's probably safest for them all to be the same brand/type.

Matrox makes one of the best muti-monitor cards.

I would just go to any retail store that sells monitors. Ask them how they
do it.
