Can I Automatically Re-Link Tables

F

FmEdit

Hi,

Using Office 2007 with SP2

Is it possible to automatically re-link tables

I have around 30 tables (25 Excel files and 5 DBF files), 16 are
updated on a daily basis, the balance every Monday.

The current link is: O:\Access (a mapped drive), database name is:
Ibd.mdb

I normally work offline using C:\Materials\Access and copy any new or
updated queries to the Ibd.mdb file on the server.

We now have another site coming online and they are unable to map a O
drive, they will most likely map to K which would be K:\Access

I do not want to manually change each link via the Linked Table
Manager.

If anyone has an example of how to do this it would be greatly
appreciated.

I have seen some examples but could not get any to work

TIA

It is always best to use UNC paths rather than drive map paths for exactly
the reason you are having this problem.
Instead of O:\Access
use
\\ServerName\Access
That way, drive maps are never an issue.

UNC naming is not an option for me as the root C:\ drive is the master
one.

Iit the best option. The C: drive is your local computer. All MS networks
have UNC mapping. If you need to use a UNC map to your local drive (really
should not have to do that) you can use the name of your computer.
\\MyComputer\SomeFolder\Access
