Can I add text to the left of an auto numbered line?

I have a document template that I would like to utlise the numbered headings, however it is a procedure document and when text is changed I need to add a revision marker (ie., 'R1') in the left most side of the document on a line, how do I do this if the line is an auto numbered heading line

One way is to use Insert | Text box and type the text in it; you could also set the border so it does not appear when printed.

Easiest way might be to insert a textbox to the left of your line and set it
to have "No line". You can then convert it to a frame and set the exact
positioning/size. You could even record a macro while you are doing this
and assign the macro to an icon on a toolbar to simplify future Revs.

Hi Julie

Insert a frame or textbox and float it in the margin, and put the marker in
it. If you define a special style for markers, you can include a frame as
part of the style definition.
