Can I access a Character Map?

I can't access Script letters, even though the Script font is listed in the
Control Panel. My wife's older laptop, also with Windows XP, has a Character
Map that contains script letters. How can I install it in my computer (with
Windows XP and Microsoft Word)? Or how else can I get the Script font?

Unless Script is a TrueType font, you can't use it in Word. There is a font
called Script that is a screen font, but Word can't use screen fonts (only
fonts that will actually print); see "WD97: Some Fonts Are Not Available in
Word" at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=163059

You can access Character Map on your computer as well; it should be on the
Start menu under Accessories | System Tools.

Word itself, however, offers the Symbol dialog. For more on this, see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/InsertSpecChars.htm
