I am trying to find out if spreadsheets in a file can have their color
changed to standout more prominent

You can change the colour of the font, as well as of the cell fill. Click on
the drawing icon, and then on the appropriate icon on the toolbar that then
comes up. The font colour has an Icon with an A, and the fill icon is a
tilting bucket. You obviously have to select the areas or cells where you
want the changes to occur, before you click on those icons.

Do you mean color the worksheet tabs in a workbook?

In versions later than 2000 you can right-click on a sheet tab and color the
tab.

I am not sure what you are asking here, so forgive me if I am way off
base.
If you are talking about the 'tabs' at the bottom of a workbook:Sheet
1,Sheet 2, etc then all you have to do is 'Right Click' the tab name
you want to change and Select, 'Tab Color'

Hope that was helpful,
Mark
