Hi

I have read that Flash (.swf) files that are embedded into a Powerpoint
presentation wil not show in Powerpoint Viewer as it doesn't handle ActiveX
etc.

I'm at that stage now where I need to distribute a Powerpoint presentation
which has Flash in it to people who may not have Powerpoint on their
machine..therefore, I need to use the Viewer.

Is there any workaround or ideas that will enable me to do this?

Thanks

Chris

Have you tried saving the presentation as a web page? Depending on your PPT
version, you may have the option of saving as a single-file web page, which
puts all of the usual HTML and support files into one jumbo uber-file. Makes
distribution simpler (though it won't be compatible with all browsers).

I'm not sure that Flash will work in it, but it's worth a try.

There are other ways to get HTML from PPT and include support for the flash
files, but I'd try this first.

Hi Steve, thanks for the reply.

Saving as HMTL isn't really a good option for me for a number of reasons.
Ideally I need a third party viewer for non Powerpoint machines or a way
around Powerpoint Viewer being able to play my Flash file.

BTW I'm using Powerpoint 2003

Its so annoying that this isn't available in the standard viewer!

Hi Steve, thanks for the reply.

For all the good it did. <g>

If you're e.g. distributing a CD, what about linking to a web page (also on the
CD) that has the flash embedded?
