Can Access Be Compiled & Dist as Standalone ?

Can an application in Access 2000 or 2002 be compiled to run as a standalone
exe? If so, I would like to make the exe as the frontend, then have a
backend mdb.

Ideally, I'd like to be able to lead the exe onto the users computer without
having to install anything else other than the backend mdb.

No, Access cannot be compiled to a .exe file. If you have a copy of the
Developer's Edition, then you can distribute a Runtime version of your
application, but the runtime version actually creates a full install of
Access on the user's machine. However, the users can only run it via your
application(s).
