Can a cell autofill with color in response to cell value?

I am new at using excel and my boss would like me to create a
worksheet that will autofill certain cells with particular colors in
response to different values that are entered,ie when she types in 12
or "run" the cell will turn red. Any advice would be greatly
appreciated.
