We currently have java-applet buttons and need to set them up using
javascript. We have some format and colour restrictions (have to use the same
size, colour, etc).
Following has been tried (unsuccessfully)...
1. finding a javascript based button / graphic which matches
2. using the modify button function (can't change the colour, etc the right
way)
3. adding a jpg and gif into the folder used for the graphics (doesn't show
up on the menu)
Suggestions?

No.

Java and javascript are entirely different.

You can accomplish what you want though using CSS, or by using DHTML and
Behaviors if you're using FP 2003.
