Camera Still Not working!!!! HELP ME!!! This is my First one!!!

Hi
I have posted this earlier and got some good advice. I
have tried everything. Tweak Ui. regedit. but it all
comes down to the one thing. When I turn on my camera
the "new hardware wizard comes up" I select choose driver
automatically. says it can not find them.

The disk that came with the computer has drivers but
the manual says dont load them for windows XP. Fine!

I have read posts about the wizard and all that but
even when I connect my camera it "does not" show up under
removable storage devices.

I was wondering if someone could email me a list of
all their drivers from there computer from the basic
windows XP. I need the drivers for a Sony DSC P52. I
think it should be the same for all sonys so if you do a
search on SOny it should come up.

Thanks in advance for listening to my rant.

Cheers

Hi there
I have EXACTLY the same problem with my Minolta Dimage Xi
camera and Windows XP in IBM ThinkPad 40. I have tried
many tricks and now the only one I haven't yet tried it a
full system restoration to original setiings. I don't
want to do that because I have 30 GB of important
material to lose. So if you have any advice, please help.

At this point, the only thing I can think is to purchase a USB card reader
and try to use this to transfer the pictures from your memory card to your
computer. Probably around $20.00.
I am assuming here that you have all the XP updates, these resolved many
issues about USB devices. If you don't have these, I would try this first.
The repairs you have tried will not work if XP does not recognize your
camera, and this seems to be the case since it is not listed as a drive when
you open My Computer.
This being so, I would check under Device manager to see if your USB is
functioning properly.
Look under Universal Serial Bus Controllers. Any yellow exclamation point
next to the list? If so they are not working properly. You can also right
click on the USB controller, click on properties to see what you have there.
Enable? There is also a troubleshooter in this window. You can use it for
directions. Very often all you need to do is to uninstall the driver from
there and install again, or update. Make sure your device is not connected
when you uninstall/install. Then connect your camera, place it ON and
reboot. See if this can fix it.
