My digital camera is hooked up to my Dell via USB. When I
first plug the cable into the camera, a box pops up
asking me what program I want to use to download the
pictures.......all is fine. I unhook camera when
finished. Later in the day, I want to download another
picture and I plug the camera in and the box pops up with
nothing in it, no programs show and it says twain source
not recognized. Now, I reboot, and all is back as it
should be. Does anyone know why this is losing
connection?

An alternative is an inexpensive card reader (for the type of card that your
camera uses). Saves on batteries, and the hassle of plugging and unplugging
the camera. The reader will show up as a drive letter, and the pics on the
card will be files.

Visit any PC or camera store for a demo.
