Calendar only opens in new window

I have a strange problem that just started. I'm using Outlook 2003 on
both my desktop and my laptop. I'm keeping them and my PDA synched
using Plaxo.

The desktop and PDA are working normally, but my laptop will not
display the calendar when I click the icon in the Navigation Pane.
However, if I right click the Calendar and select Open in New Window,
it appears in a new window just fine, with all the recently synched
items appearing.

I noticed that it's not appearing under the My Calendars portion of
the Navigation Pane, nor does it appear in the Personal Folders tree.

Any suggestions?

Plaxo is known to cause many unusual side-effects with Outlook.

Try starting Outlook once with the /resetfolders and /resetfoldernames
command switches.

Try starting Outlook once with the /resetfolders and /resetfoldernames
command switches.

I tried it with both switches at the same time, as well as each one
individually. The behavior has not changed.

I have also tried replacing my laptop's outlook.pst file with the
working one from my desktop. All the desktop messages are there, but
the Calendar behavior is still there.

I'm attempting a repair install now, and a reinstall after that if it
fails.

Neither of these fixed the problem. The Calendar is intact, but the
only way to view it is by right clicking and opening it in a new
window.

Any other ideas?

Did you uninstall Plaxo?

Yes, Plaxo is uninstalled for now, and I am still seeing the problem.

Just before this happened, I remember seeing some behavior that I was
trying to correct. My Calendar was appearing in my Favorite Folders
list and I preferred it not to be there. Right clicking to remove it
did not work, as the option wasn't available. I believe I deleted it
from the personal folder list to stop this behavior. I may have
inadvertently caused what I am seeing now.

I made a full hard drive image of my laptop a couple of months ago, so
I've just backed up my documents and am restoring a good image. This
solution may be overkill, but I've already spent more time than this
solution will involve.

Thanks for trying to help.
