calendar link to an e-mail message

I need to add a calendar link to an e-mail or announcement. I see a
v-calendar in an announcement I have received but can not figure out how to
add it myself
 
You would first have to upload the .ics or .vcs file to your web server using the same process as for any other file. Once you've done that, you'd add a hyperlink to the file, just as you would to a web page.

Create an Outlook appointment. Save it as an .ics file or .vcs. Upload it to your web server. In the message, add a link to the uploaded file.
